| Dr. Kirsten Doub
Dr. Doub is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 2002 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr. Doub specializes in surgery, dentistry, and preventative medicine. Her vision for Union Park Veterinary Hospital is to create a small town but upscale hospital where pets are given the most progressive and advanced care. Dr. Doub shares her home in Cottonwood Heights with Lincoln, her 2 dogs, a senior Belgian Malinois and a senior Norwegian Elkhound, and her 2 cats, Merlin and Makuna, she took in as strays. Dr. Doub enjoys working with rescue groups and she frequently opens her home to a myriad of foster dogs and cats. In her free time, Dr. Doub is an avid resort and backcountry skier, kayaker, and backpacker.
Mika Stewart, Veterinary Technician and Dental Specialist
Mika is originally from Southern California where she has been working in the veterinary field since 2004. Mika brings to UPVH extensive experience in dental hygiene, periodontal treatments, and expertise in internal medicine including nutritional consults. While she enjoys working with dogs and cats, she also enjoys working with not-so-furry friends including birds, snakes, lizards, and frogs. Mika recently moved from California to Cottonwood Heights in June of 2012 where she lives with her 9 year old son, two cats, and a German Shepherd named Kytka. In her free time, Mika enjoys hiking, horseback riding, and camping.
Marsha Small, Certified Veterinary Technician
Marsha is a native of Utah and has been in the veterinary field since 2006. Marsha became certified in veterinary technology in Arizona. Marsha brings to UPVH extensive experience with client communication and education, anesthesia, and surgery preparation and assistance. She loves veterinary medicine because it gives her something new to look forward to everyday. Marsha loves spending her time working hard and helping to heal other’s pets but also loves having fun adventures with her family. She lives with her boyfriend (Bryce) and son (Karson), her dogs, Samson, Delilah and Angus, her blue tongue skink (Rocky), ball python (Yoda) and red tail boa (Crimson).
Connie Pyferoen, Receptionist
Connie was born and raised in Michigan, however she spent the majority of her adult life living in Chicago, IL. She has 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. She worked in the "human" medical field for over 25 years, including being an Anesthesia Technician for 7 years. She has always had an absolute love of all animals, so it just seems fitting that she would finally make the switch to "Furry" patients. In her free time, she enjoys camping, kayaking and photography, and fostering baby kittens and baby birds. She is also a die-hard sports fan...Chicago Bears, Blackhawks and Cubbies!!!!
